Koo Sang Hee (구상희) paints at the edge of the picture. Working in acrylic and resin on variform wooden frames, she lets colour pool and drip past the painting's border — treating the frame itself not as a boundary but as part of the work (a parergon, after Derrida).

Onto front and side surfaces she collages clippings from art newspapers and magazines, then erases, scratches, and overpaints them — showing and unshowing image and text at once, and banding the edges with ordered lines of colour. The recurring move is to pull the periphery toward the center: the marginal, the overlooked, made luminous.

She holds an M.F.A. from Hongik University and is a member of the Korea Fine Arts Association. She lives and works in Seoul.
